On Feb. 15, the day after Valentine’s Day, Lorna  Perez-Caster, a volunteer with FOCUS (Friends of Children United Society) delivered a carload of much needed supplies to Casa de Amparo, which translates to Home of Protection.  Founded in 1978, Casa de Amparo provides shelter and support to neglected and abused children and annually serves over one thousand children.

The reenactment of such songs as “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” and “Don’t Be Cruel,” will be heard in the Nautilus Room of the Coronado Community Center, on the evening of Sunday, April 29. from 5 to 9 p.m.

On December 21, 2017 the newly elected officers of Friends of  Children United Society (FOCUS) took their oath of office. It was a festive occasion at the Bahama Village Clubhouse, Coronado Cays, where each guest brought a Christmas tree ornament to be placed on a Christmas tree, and the tree then given to Urban Street Angels, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide meals, medical attention and overnight lodging to youths under the age of 21. In early August members of FOCUS (Friends of Children United Society) got together to stuff 350 backpacks with school supplies for San Diego County underprivileged children, grades kindergarten through high school. For ninety minutes, during the concert portion of FOCUS’ “Come Together” fundraiser, attendees got to step back in time to the 60’s as they listened and danced to the music of the Beatles performed by tribute band “Britain’s Finest”, who sounded and looked very much like the real Beatles. FOCUS Enjoys Holiday Celebration, Install New Officers

On December 21, 2017 the newly elected officers of Friends of  Children United Society (FOCUS) took their oath of office. It was a festive occasion at the Bahama Village Clubhouse, Coronado Cays, where each guest brought a Christmas tree ornament to be placed on a Christmas tree, and the tree then given to Urban Street Angels, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide meals, medical attention and overnight lodging to youths under the age of 21. FOCUS Rummage Sale a Big Success

FOCUS Assists Underprivileged Students Heading Back to School.

In early August members of FOCUS (Friends of Children United Society) got together to stuff 350 backpacks with school supplies for San Diego County underprivileged children, grades kindergarten through high school. FOCUS’ “Come Together” Fundraiser is a Huge Success.

For ninety minutes, during the concert portion of FOCUS’ “Come Together” fundraiser, attendees got to step back in time to the 60’s as they listened and danced to the music of the Beatles performed by tribute band “Britain’s Finest”, who sounded and looked very much like the real Beatles. FOCUS Delivers Supplies To Casa De Amparo

On Feb. 15, the day after Valentine’s Day, Lorna  Perez-Caster, a volunteer with FOCUS (Friends of Children United Society) delivered a carload of much needed supplies to Casa de Amparo, which translates to Home of Protection.  Founded in 1978, Casa de Amparo provides shelter and support to neglected and abused children and annually serves over one thousand children.
